Calling all poetry lovers!
Join us as we celebrate the debut poetry collection, Ports and Portals by Katryn Broadoak. Written after a breast cancer diagnosis and shaped by recovery and survivorship, Ports and Portals invites readers into a world where grief and grace coexist. Through honesty, humour, and a touch of irreverence, Katryn explores self-discovery, self-acceptance, self-love, motherhood, spiritual tension, and the sacred work of rebuilding faith, both in oneself and in something greater.
Whether you are a longtime poetry reader or simply drawn to stories of healing, renewal, and transformation, this event offers space for connection and reflection.
What You Can Expect:
1:15 – 2 PM – Live Interview - Join Katryn Broadoak for a thoughtful conversation about the creation of Ports and Portals, her journey through illness and healing, and how poetry became a vessel for grace, faith, and rediscovery.
2 – 2:30 PM – Audience Q&A - Got burning questions? Now’s your chance to ask them during an open-floor Q&A session.
2:30 - 2:45 - Live Reading - Katryn will read a few of her favorite poems live
2:30 – 4 PM – Meet & Greet + Book Signing - Wrap up the day with a personal meet-and-greet! Get your books signed, snap a photo, and say hello to Katryn in person.
Though born from one woman’s experience, Ports and Portals speaks to anyone who has faced uncertainty and allowed it to transform them.
We can't wait to see you there!
